After more than 20 years in Košice, the Word-Formation Theories & Typology and Universals in Word-Formation twin conferences set out on a world tour. Their first stop will be at Vilnius University, Lithuania, on 15–17 June 2027. We cordially invite everyone to explore new territories in word-formation research and continue the tradition of the Košice meetings.
The conference will host three workshops and a general session with a preferred focus on word-formation theory, typology, and universals. We also welcome submissions in the following subfields:
- Word-Formation and Phonology
- Word-Formation and Syntax
- Productivity and Innovation in Word-Formation
- Word-Formation and Language Contact
- Computational and Quantitative Approaches to Word-Formation
- Experimental and Psycholinguistic Approaches to Word-Formation

- Magda Ševčíková (Charles University, Prague)
Abstract guidelines for the general session: Please submit anonymous abstracts of up to 300 words (excluding references) to jurgis.pakerys@flf.vu.lt by 15 March 2027. The abstracts will be evaluated by the conference academic committee.

2. Methods in Morphological Research, convened by Pascual Cantos Gómez (University of Murcia), Ana Díaz-Negrillo (University of Granada), and Salvador Valera (University of Granada)
3. Word-Formation in Distributed Morphology, convened by Milena Šereikaitė (Cornell University) and Luke James Adamson (Leibniz-Zentrum Allgemeine Sprachwissenschaft)
